Friday Fill-In

And...here we go! Sorry for being such a slacker!

1. Angel or not, I will do God's work to the best of my ability.

2. Bend me, shape me, any way you want me, long as you love me, it's all right.

3. As my mother used to say, you're full of sugar and spice and everything nice.

4. I always cool down after I'm done working out or doing something strenuous (not that it's very often).

5. Even in the most crowded of rooms I try to stay in the shadows (I don't like crowds!).

6. A day of warm temperatures with a cold front moving through is a day fraught with peril.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to reading more of the book, 'Twilight', tomorrow my plans include our final softball practice in the morning, who knows what in the afternoon and evening and Sunday, I want to learn lots of new stuff in my photography class!

We Survived a Tornado!

On Saturday evening, we had some storms roll through our area. While Shad and I were on a date night and were eating at a restaurant with some old college friends (a surprise birthday party for one friend we hadn't seen in 8 years), apparently the shopping complex next to us got hit by a EF-0 tornado (~90 mph winds)! Since (1) the window blinds were closed (the sun had been shining moments before) and (2) we never received a Tornado Warning (only a Severe T'storm Warning), we were completely oblivious until we left the restaurant after the fact! Very scary! Even scarier is that, had we not been with friends, we very well could've been at the movie theater in that complex! When we have a date night, we typically do dinner and a movie and are usually at the theater between 7:00 and 7:30, depending on the specific showtime! I'm so thankful that we had other plans that night!!

The whole time this was going on, Christopher was with Granddaddy at McDonald's...a little way down the street and out of harm's way.

MOPS Fundraiser Picture

A few weeks ago, my MOPS group sold $10 tickets to get your child's picture taken. The incentive was a "free" 8x10. Of course, the photographer then tried to sell you all the pictures. I took Christopher with no intention of buying any since we have school pictures coming up soon; I just wanted the free 8x10 (not to mention help out my MOPS group). Unfortunately for us, this photographer uses tuxes and fancy white dresses for the kids to dress up in. We did choose to put Christopher in a tux and OH. MY. GOODNESS...it was WAY TOO CUTE!!! Sadly, the cheapest price for the pictures was $140 (6 sheets), but the price of the package I wanted was $230 (11 sheets plus cd with copyright release)!!!!! <:-O Umm...NO WAY, JOSE!!!! The photographer was then willing to go down to $130 for 4 sheets. Heck, if I'm spending more than $100, I'm getting a heck of a lot more than FOUR sheets!!!!! That was $32.50 PER SHEET! Crazy!!! So, after all that, here's the free 8x10 pose that I chose:

Of course I'm biased, but isn't he the cutest????? :D
