Well, it's definitely movement! Christopher sure has been squirming around a lot and kicking up a storm over the last couple of weeks! Thankfully, it's not bothersome yet. Also, he doesn't seem to be too active at night, either. Shad's been able to put his hand on my stomach and feel the movement a few different times already. I'm so glad the baby isn't playing shy when Shad wants to participate! I made a comment to him the other night as we were going to bed about how active the baby had been that day. He put his hand on my stomach and right away was a HUGE kick! Shad's eyes got really big and he asked, "Was that it?" After keeping his hand on my stomach a few more minutes, he was able to feel a lot of different kicks and punches. As we were turning out the light, he confessed that feeling it kinda freaked him out. He said it reminded him of the movie "Alien" where the alien was coming out of the woman's stomach! I found that TOO funny!!!
I had my most recent OB appointment back on Monday, August 22 (22 wks 6 days) with the Nurse Practitioner. Everything went well. I had my blood pressure taken (102/50), weight checked (9 lb gain from last visit...net gain of 16 lbs), Christopher's heart rate checked (approximately 135 bpm), and my stomach measured for the first time (right on track @ 23 cm).
I'd had a very minor itching rash for a couple of weeks, so decided to mention it at my appointment. I was referred to a dermatologist, which I saw on Thursday, August 25. I was diagnosed with Pityriasis Rosea. I was told that it is not pregnancy-related, although I'm convinced it is since the doctor said it depends on your immune system whether or not you get it. My immune system has always been fine, so I figure that being pregnant must have lowered it. I was also told that the rash would go away on its own in 6-8 weeks and was given a prescription for an anti-itch cream. I've only had to use the cream once and now all the spots are going away with no new ones appearing. I'm glad this turned out to be nothing major!
Well, football season is upon us once again! Shad, his dad and I have season tickets for the UT Vols! Unfortunately, I'm probably only going to be able to attend the first game, which is this Saturday (Sept. 3). The next home game isn't until Oct. 1 and I figure it'll be a lot harder for me to make it through the day and the possible heat by that point. This week's game is against University of Alabama at Birmingham.
My next appointment is Thursday, September 15 @ 11:30 am. It'll be the usual routine with the addition of the Glucose Test. I'll also need to get the RhoGam shot, but will have to wait until my 28th week.
Symptoms: Besides FINALLY feeling the baby move, nothing else is new. I've had the occasional heartburn and will occasionally have a heartier appetite. Neither are always consistent though.
