6 weeks 5 days

This week has been quite uneventful as far as the pregnancy goes. I am now almost 7 weeks along. As usual, the only symptoms have been fatigue, hunger (but still not a very big appetite) and just a little bit of the "blahs." I haven't had too much in the way of indigestion lately, but the acne has been a bit more active.

We've had 1 softball game (won by forfeit) this week and have our second tonight. Shad and I ended up letting our gym membership expire at the end of April, so we need to renew it and get back into our routine. Since softball games for both Shad and me have started, though, it's really hard to get over there during the week. I figure we'll have to start going more on Saturdays and Sundays.

Our plans for the weekend include going to the air show in Smyrna on Saturday and then visiting my mom on Sunday for Mother's Day. At least it's something to keep us busy so we're not just sitting around being lazy and bored!

6 weeks 2 days

There's not been anything too exciting happening lately. I've been feeling okay; pretty much the same symptoms of fatigue, having a little bit of the "blahs," and some indigestion. As for hunger...my stomach does still growl more often than it would if I weren't pregnant, but in reality, it's more in line with when I should be hungry anyway (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Every now and then it'll growl in between those times, but not too often. I'm just not used to it growling much at all.

I've been getting used to taking naps whenever I get a chance. Sometimes I don't even realize that I'm tired until I lay down. Then, before I know it, I'm out like a light!

At my last appointment, the doctor gave me the go-ahead to play softball. Our season only lasts until the beginning of June, so I'll be right at the end of my first trimester when I finish. He told me that really the only way I could injure the baby at this point would be to break my pelvis, which certainly won't happen in our league! We're all just playing for fun and the coaches know that I'm pregnant, so are keeping a close eye on me. If I need to come out, I know to just say something.

Shad's been fun to watch come around with all this news. He still has his moments, but he's doing a lot better. Every now and then he'll make a comment to Brinkley about being a "big brother." I just have to laugh! He's still really wanting to be in our own house by the time the baby comes, but we really don't know how much of a possibility that is for us. Financially, we might could swing one or the other, but certainly not both at the same time. Therefore, he really needs to hear back from his boss regarding the promotion to management very soon! For some reason, his boss just keeps procrastinating. I guess that it is possible his boss is being honest and needs more time, but on the other hand, if there's nothing available and he has no intentions of promoting Shad, he just needs to say so. Both of us feel like it's just being dangled out in front of us like a lure, but it's not really something attainable. Please keep Shad's job prospect in your prayers in addition to this pregnancy!
