I can't believe it's December already!!!!! Shad and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary, Christopher's turning TWO years old in less than 2 weeks AND Christmas is upon us!!!!!
Football season, for the most part, is done and over with...all except for the bowl game. We were highly dissappointed in UT's loss to LSU on Saturday in the SEC Championship game! It would've made a GREAT anniversary gift! We had it in us to win, but just couldn't pull it off. That seems to be the way UT works. :p
We've bought a few gifts for Christopher's birthday/Christmas, but still have some more to get. So far, from us, he's getting a Radio Flyer tricycle, a TMX Elmo and an Elmo phone. I still want to find a sit 'n spin and some kind of wooden rocking chair for him. I'll probably get a few knick knacks to fit in his stocking as stocking stuffers. He's learning this year who Santa Claus is, but I'm probably skipping out on having pictures done with Santa since I'm sure that would be a disaster.
We attempted Christmas pictures at Portrait Innovations this morning, but that DID turn out to be a disaster. Christopher wouldn't have any part of it. I re-scheduled for later today, but decided to cancel after having time to think about it. If he acted like that in the MORNING, he's surely not going to be any better in the evening! Instead, we're going to attempt a family picture in front of our Christmas tree at home. We've attempted that before when we had Brinkley and it didn't work out too well. Therefore, if it doesn't turn out like I want, our back-up plan is to go to a friend's house and use their fireplace as a backdrop. Hopefully, we'll get some pictures to use on a Christmas card
some way!
Other than getting ready for Christmas, Christopher and I have been busy with school. We have 2 more weeks and then have a break for Christmas. Christopher's doing GREAT there and is learning things like CRAZY!!! He's coming home saying stuff that just amazes me! He's saying and recognizing most numbers, letters and shapes and is repeating most words we ask him to say. He's not much with putting long sentences together yet, but can do about a 4 word sentence, so still pretty good.
Mindy (my sister) and I took a quick trip up to Pennsylvania a few weekends ago (November 16-18) for our aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. It was a LONG drive and short stay, but well worth it to see everyone again and be there for my aunt and uncle! Christopher stayed 2 nights with my mom since Shad went to the UT/Vandy ballgame. He had a blast at Grandma's and came home quite spoiled!
Well, that about sums things up around here. I'll end with a few recent pictures of Christopher:
