Potty Training Update

It's time for another potty training update. I slacked off for a while, so not much was done for the last month or so. I decided the other day that I'd better get my rear in gear and start being consistent. I let him run around naked for a couple of days and he had 100% success!!! So, I put him in underwear for his 2nd time ever yesterday afternoon. He did have 1 accident, but I just changed them and put on a new pair. He did great the rest of day!!!

So far today, he's had 2 accidents. We had to run a couple of errands earlier this afternoon and he decided that he didn't want to change into a Pull-Up (I wasn't ready to tackle the public toilets!!!). So, I made him go potty before leaving and took a Pull-Up and a change of clothes along for just in case. Soon after getting to our first stop (Home Depot), he declares that he has to go potty. So, not knowing how badly he needed to go or even *IF* he needed to go, I made a mad dash for the restroom. We get there and he's completely intimidated by the "big potty." I managed to get him to at least sit, but he didn't do anything. So, I easily convinced him to put the Pull-Up on instead (with the underwear on top) and we went about our merry way.

We were finishing up at our 2nd stop (Kroger) when he declared that, once again, he had to go potty. After warning him that it was another big potty, he still wanted to go. So, once again, we made a mad dash for the restroom. That time was a success!!! YAY!!! I'm now in the market for a travel toilet seat cover to go into his diaper bag! LOL!

Before naptime, I checked his Pull-Up and it was still DRY!! Woo hoo! We'll attempt underwear again tonight, so wish us luck! We're definitely not potty trained yet, but we're closer than we were a week ago! Hopefully he'll be totally trained in the near future.

Another Trip to The Aquarium

I took Christopher down to Chattanooga to visit my sister, Mindy, last week. We spent Thursday night and Friday down there. Our plan for Friday was go to Coolidge Park in the morning where there's a playground, water fountains and carousel, have a picnic lunch and then go to The Aquarium. However, it rained all morning, so we stayed longer visiting Mindy's BFF (who gave us IMAX tickets) instead. We then had our picnic lunch (in the rain) at an umbrella table at The Aquarium. Afterward, we all went to see a 45-minute show about dolphins and whales at the IMAX. It was Christopher's 1st movie at a theater of any kind and he did okay. Thank goodness it was only 45 minutes, though! At first, he was afraid of the 3D glasses and when the theater got really dark (the bright screen lit the room most of the time). However, with about 15-20 minutes left, he let me put the glasses back on him. From that point, he LOVED it! It was too funny seeing him try to catch and pet the dolphins and whales! LOL!
