I just can't believe how fast time is flying! Christopher turned 6 weeks old this past Thursday! He is now more alert, smiling for "real" and holding his head up quite well. However, he's still waking me up 2-3 times each night. I'm anxiously awaiting the day when he will sleep for at least 4 or 5 hours straight! I've been busy reading books such as BabyWise, The No Cry Sleep Solution and Happiest Baby on the Block. Each of those books have interesting points, so now I just have to find something that works for us!
We went for his 1 month check-up this past Tuesday. He now weighs 10 lbs 9 oz, is 21 inches long and has a head circumfrence of 27.5. We go for his shots on Monday, February 6, which is the week he turns 8 weeks old. I'm due to return to work that Thursday (Feb. 9), so need him to be prepared to go into childcare.
HOWEVER...after calling around to find someone to keep Christopher in their home (with absolutely no luck at all), I'm finding it harder and harder to accept letting someone that I don't even know take care of him! I've always said that I want to be a Stay At Home Mom (SAHM), but we didn't think it was possible at this point in our lives. Therefore, if it's going to work out the way we want, I'll have to find some way of making money while at home.
I've got a couple of options to look into right now:
- To find some kind of computer/internet job, such as Data Entry or Paid Surveys. My dilemma is that I don't know who to trust out there!
- To keep a couple of other children in my home. The problem there is that IS a regular job even though I'm still home with Christopher. I won't be able to leave the house, I won't get to take breaks, I'll have to always be on my toes with crawlers/toddlers, etc.
So, that's what's going on around here right now! Since I'm due to return to work in less than 2 weeks, I have to find something VERY SOON! I'm still planning to return when I'm supposed to, but just don't know how long I'll be staying right now.
Please pray that (1) we either find someone TRUSTWORTHY to keep Christopher and I come to terms with going back to work or (2) I find some way to make money at home. I would appreciate it very much!
